It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven world titles have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.
